Ludwig Foundation of Cuba's President, Executive Director and Specialists visit the U.S. to develop exchange programs, establish new institutional links, and deliver lectures on contemporary Cuban art. In 2001, the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba staff members met with more than 35 museums, universities, and other cultural institutions. The President and other board members of the American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba (AFLFC) have been visiting the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba in Havana in order to develop programs, strengthen the infrastructure and support each others' vision. Special cultural tours and one on one meetings with members of the New York art community are organized by AFLFC for Cuban artists and art professionals visiting New York City. (2000-2004)
Art Appraising Development
American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba provides on-going consultancy to the National Council of Fine Arts and the Instituto Superior de Arte to develop an appraisal association and curriculum leading to a Masters of Art degree based on the principles of art appraising. (2000-2004)
Art Law
One-on-one legal consultation was provided to visual artists, filmmakers, and gallery directors. The consultations addressed concerns regarding commission and website agreements, sales of art to museums, and intellectual property rights. (2001)
Rhode Island School of Design (RISD)
A New Media Technology Seminar provides information for new equipment and technology in contemporary artistic creation. Plans for a Digital Media Lab are being developed which will allow Cuban artists to create, document and preserve art.
